My boyfriend and I are going on our first cruise in Oct. 09. We will be on the Carnival Imagination. We are curious about the average cost of drinks. We know that the tips are added.

$6-$12 on alcoholic beverages. Keep in mind that some drinks will be given in souvenir cups (especially on departure day). You might want to avoid those as they will boost the cost. If you drink lots of sodas and juices I suggest you buy the drinks package. You will save lots of money.

I agree with Michelle with $6-$12 depending on what you order. Of course they have some of the Remy Martin cognac and Macallan scotch as well on board.

However I disagree with Michelle saying avoid the souvenir cup. The first day the Carnival Fun Ship will be in the souvenir cup. After that when you carry you cup around you get a refill price that’s about $2 cheaper. That’s a lot more liquor for the price as it’s a large hurricane glass instead of a plastic cup.

I agree, they range anywhere from $5-$12. They do have a drink of the day, which runs cheaper than the rest, I believe it’s $5.95 in a souvenir glass, it will be listed in the carnival caper. This is a great way to try new drinks! I found some new ones this way. As for the souvenir glass, if you are going to be getting more than 1 drink per day then it’s good, otherwise no.

    Beer: $5
    Wine & champaigne: $22-35
    Soft drinks: $2
    Specialty Cocktails: $5
    Frozen exotic cocktails: $6
    Martinis: $7
    Hard liquor: $5-8

if you plan on getting sodas(pop) then you can get a fountain drink card for about $40 and get unlimited at anytime for the week :]

ive been on a few cruises myself so i hope i helped :]

I am a Cruiser for life I can tell you that the drinks get expensive faster than you think. But I have some ways to easy that.

First – you can buy drink vouchers/coupons online through the carnival cruise website. These really help. You just buy online then they add it to your card on board! It’s like 25-3 bucks worth of drinks so buy a few of those be fore hand and you have saved a little.

Second – If you drink wine you can get a wine package through the web site as well! I find this one to be great since I am a huge wine-o and love to try different wine with each meal. This is a great way to expand your knowledge of wines it runs 125-200 for the entire package, but like I said you can pre order and pay online before your trip.

Third-FREE DRINKS!!! Yes I said FREE!!! Even if you don’t enjoy art or should I say the “fake” art (please read up on park wet galleries legal battles and “fake” art). Any-who back to FREE they give free Champagne before the shows just to browse it’s free to see and free to drink!! Also, you can go to the alcohol tasting events throughout the trip they should offer at least 2-3 of these. You may have to pay for the wine tasting events though.

For the most part have fun…oh yeah and if you buy any liquor abroad, on board, you get the “package” on the last day so you can drink it then!

Bon Voyage!! Have a blast…..I am booked for a Halloween Cruise on Ecstasy

about 2 to 20 dollars, depending upon what you order. if you buy their glass the refills are always cheaper.

For 20 to 40 dollars you can order an entire bottle of booze from room service and then make your own.

i JUST got back today from this cruise. my mixed drinks were averaging $8 in the regular cups, not the fancy cocounut or logo cups [i think they charge a few dollars extra for these] your gonna have SO MUCH FUNN!

Sometimes cruises will have “specials” out on the lido deck.
For example, a glass of sangria was generally around $5.50 most days but on special it was $3.00.
You just have to look for them or ask the bartenders. They are there to make you happy and to make money, dont be shy.
Also, on Captains night there were free drinks and appetizers before dinner in the lounge.
It was a little over an hour but the drinks were completely free (just leave a tip to the server).
Also, get a souvenir cup on the first day because yes they are cheaper for refills and you will have that as a keepsake.
And you HAVE to get a cocoloco!!!
They are sooo good and they come in a really cute coconut shell!
Remember you are on vacation, just enjoy yourself and splurge. You deserve it!
