Matthew Feddersen and Blake Marggraff, a team from California, won the Gordon E. Moore Award and a $75000 prize. The project, which treats simulated cancer cells with Compton scattering-produced secondary radiation, could offer a cheaper alternative to cancer treatment. I interviewed Matt and Blake at the Compass Summit in Los Angeles.
